It’s a time for joy, celebration, and spending time with loved ones. 1. Plan Ahead

It’s no surprise that the key to stress-free travel is planning.

Book your flights and accommodations well in advance to avoid last minute price hikes and issues with availability. Create a detailed itinerary. Include travel routes, where you will be staying, and important numbers, so you have all your information in one place.

2. Pack Smart

3. Stay Connected

4. Flexible Travel Dates

It’s best to avoid peak travel dates, if you can.

You may be able to beat the crowds by taking a red-eye flight. You could also save money by traveling a day or two before/after major holidays.

5. Prepare for Security

Navigating through airport security can be one of the most stressful parts of travel.

  • Have your ID and boarding pass ready to speed through this stage of the airport.
  • Plan to wear shoes (and socks) you can easily remove. You’ll need to remove shoes when going through the checkpoint. No need to remove shoes if you have TSA precheck.

6. Stay Healthy

The holiday travel season is also flu season.

Bring a travel-sized hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. Don’t forget to stay hydrated and bring healthy snacks.

7. Entertainment

Long waits and delays are common during the holidays.

8. Gift Wrapping

Mail gifts to your destination to avoid carrying extra items and running into potential issues with TSA.

9. Emergency Kit
